This was actually a beat made by the Sunspot team for Bobby Bishop as a remix to One Shot. Obviously that didn't work out, but I still loved the beat. I was playing it in the studio one day and Showf started singing this hook--on some ole big man thug love crooning type of stuff. People didn't get it so we found this Chris Brown sounding cat to make it more friendly to the ears. So that would explain why Showf has an "out of place" second verse...he originally sang the hook so it WAS an even split.
